Well, Happy New Year (a bit overdue)! 2020/21 is an interesting time for artists, while there are still no live concerts in France, streaming has become quite popular and Les Jingle Belles were very thankful for all the heartfelt and enthousiastic support of our streamed Christmas show, Christmas Cheer - la magie de Noël this past December.
Broadway Ensemble was also able to come to you for the holidays thanks to La Clef des Chants for filming a 30-min concert version of our show, Radio Broadway Célèbre Hollywood, which you can still watch here if you missed it!

Back in October 2020, I was asked by award-winning French musician/singer/composer/musical director, Philippe Uminksi, to work on this project for Universal Production Music Fr as lyricist and singer and I absolutely loved every minute of it! I've always enjoyed writing, ever since high school when several of my poems were published locally and one especially that was published by The National Library of Poetry (Songs on the Wind, 1995). Needless to say, I love poetry; the imagery poems evoke and the musicality of verse, so getting to write songs that are supposed to sound like they were written in the 60s was more than groovy!
The album was recorded and mixed November/December in Sérignan's sunny South of France, at Studio Ma Ferme, a cozy studio that reminds me of those mythic studios from Alabama (Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, FAME Studios). The album was mastered at Globe Audio Mastering in Bordeaux to really give it that 60s sound and is now available on Spotify, Deezer and Amazon. Click here to discover the album!
During this whole artistic process, Philippe Uminski, posted behind-the-scenes videos on social media which I compiled into a playlist on my YouTube channel, if you missed them or would like to watch them again, click on : The Making of 60s SUNSHINE POP
I’m very pleased to announce that the latest jazz album, Almost Blue, with the newly-formed group, KLGO, featuring an original tune and jazz-pop covers is available in hard copy and will be released on digital platforms in September! Click here for excerpts
KLGO is Lexie Kendrick (vocals), Sébastien Lovato (piano and keyboards), Bernard Gallone (double bass), and Ichiro Onoe (drums).
Recorded May 25 and 26, 2020 at the Studio de Meudon.
I was thrilled to sing for the « Yé-yé » (French 60s pop) project FRENCH MADEMOISELLES for FGL Productions with Thierry Wolf (lyrics), Jacques Ferchit (musical director/composer) and Jacky Delance (composer) ! The project is a « tongue-in-cheek » take on French 60s pop, so what could be a better combination: good humour and great pop with a French twist!
2021 marks the birth of a new folk-pop duo, Phil & Lexie, with French musician/singer/composer/musical director, Philippe Uminski (Mon premier amour, Circus, Johnny Hallyday, Julien Clerc…). In February, we spent a week-long artist residency in Sérignan at Studio Ma Ferme where we wrote 10 new songs and laid down our demo tracks. Stay tuned for more to come!
In the meantime, you can watch or re-watch all of our cover duets, Duos in a minute here.
